2008-02-26: Arni Cheatham - "Thing" reviewed and CDs coming out soon

Arni Cheatham's "Thing" LP has been reviewed on Free Jazz blog. Also, a CD version is in the works on Porter Records, so keep an eye peeled! Luke is putting together a really nice package including new liner notes and graphics.

2008-02-05: Conrad Johnson fund-raiser

I'm sure you have all heard about the sad passing of Conrad Johnson. Egon is selling original pressings of Kashmere LPs and 45s to help raise funds for his family. Contact information is in the link above. They aren't cheap, but very reasonable for what they are.

2007-10-20: The Dance and DRM-free options

The sole full-length by The Dance is now available. Also, ReRelease is transferring its catalog over to Other Music Digital and Amazon.com. These retailers provide DRM-free MP3s and don't require the installation of special software.

2007-09-08: ReRelease jazz mix on Galactic Fractures Sunday 9/9/07

I'm on the road but check this out. There will be an exclusive jazz mix on PJ's Galactic Fractures show Sunday night... lots of cool vinyl-only jazz rarities being spun (with the exception of a luke vibert track). Free download, be sure to subscribe to PJ's podcast, he posts mixes with killer guests on a weekly basis! http://www.galacticfractures.com

2007-09-02: Comments are working

You can now leave comments about any album on the Re-Release website. We'd love to hear what you have to say!

2007-08-22: Coming soon: Other Music Digital and DRM-free purchasing!

We've received many requests from people trying to ReRelease albums, but would prefer MP3s and not have to install additionally software. Coincidentally, legendary indie music retailer Other Music is starting up a online music store that sells high-quality, DRM-free MP3s.

So, starting in September, you will be able to preview and buy the entire line of ReRelease albums on Other Music Digital with no DRM restrictions.

2007-08-15: Coming in October: Thesda - "Spaced Out"

We're pleased to announce that one of the next releases for ReRelease (the first online, artist-centric, re-release music label) is Thesda's "Spaced Out" album from 1979. Don't let the generic cover or late 70s release date fool you, this is a fantastic funky jazz / modern soul album that defies description and is consistently in demand from collectors. The full album will be available for purchase in October, 2007.

Why pay over $500 for a copy on ebay when you can get the remastered version from www.rerelease.net for under $10? And give money to the artist while you're at it?

Check our myspace page for a taste. (add us as a friend and see who else is digging ReRelease!)

2007-06-03: Elysian Spring and Thing

The ReRelease website is live with two albums only available here, starting out the Mass Jazz Underground series. Elysian Spring is a hotly-tipped mellow modal jazz album, while Arni Cheatham's Thing album from 1972 is a burning slice of miles-influenced funky jazz that has few points of comparison in Boston, then or now. Keep an eye on the website, because we'll announce a few more soon!
